DSE Assessments

Prevent Discomfort. Reduce Sickness Absence. Improve Workstation DSE Safety.
What is a DSE assessment?
A Display Screen Equipment assessment, also called a DSE assessment, evaluates how a person uses screens at work — including laptops, monitors, keyboards, desks, and chairs — to ensure their setup is comfortable, safe, and compliant with regulations.
DSE assessments are a legal requirement under the Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 for employees who use screens daily for prolonged periods.
Poor workstation setup can lead to a range of musculoskeletal (MSK) issues, including:
Neck, shoulder, and back pain
Repetitive strain injuries (RSI)
Eye strain and headaches
Fatigue and reduced productivity
Increased sickness absence
A DSE assessment identifies these risks early and recommends ergonomic adjustments to reduce pain and injury.
At Bespoke Wellbeing, we offer expert-led DSE services for employees working on-site, hybrid, or remotely:
On-site DSE assessments by qualified assessors
Remote DSE assessments via video call with tailored advice
Ergonomic equipment recommendations
Post-injury workstation adjustments (e.g. after MSK absence)
Follow-up support for complex needs
We also support employees with reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act — including those with chronic pain, disability, or neurodiversity needs.
DSE assessments for employees can have the following benefits:
Reduce MSK-related sickness absence
Improve employee comfort and productivity
Identify risks early and reduce claims
Boost staff morale and wellbeing
Ensure compliance with HSE regulations
